Mont Blanc-the Highest Peak in Europe
In the summer of 2025, Lumiversumi is organizing two guided weeks aimed at getting all participants to the summit of Mont Blanc, the highest mountain in Europe, located on the border of France and Italy. Each week is limited to four clients. Climbing to the roof of Europe does not require prior mountaineering experience. The main route we use consists mostly of easy walking and climbing.
If you're planning to climb Mont Blanc next summer, it's important to note that you should decide by the previous fall. If you wait until winter or spring (January–May) to make the decision, it’s often too late, as mountain hut reservations will already be full.
One of Lumiversumi’s founders, Pette Halme, the first Finnish UIAGM guide, has been guiding clients to the summit of Mont Blanc for over 20 years. Nearly 100 satisfied clients on the summit of Europe over the years is proof that our acclimatization program works! We also ensure the ascent is as safe as possible by spending two nights and three days on Mont Blanc itself. It’s a bit more expensive but offers maximum safety!

Although the climbing route to Mont Blanc is technically easy, we do not recommend attempting the summit without a guide unless you are proficient in rope techniques, crevasse rescue, acclimatization, weather forecasting in the mountains, and avalanche safety.
Even on this route, there are dangers such as falling rocks in certain areas, crevasses, rapidly changing weather, and avalanches. In many places, stumbling or falling could be fatal—each year, a few serious accidents occur even on the standard route.
Climbing with a guide increases your chances of reaching the summit. A guide has climbed the mountain numerous times before, understands the conditions, knows how to pace the ascent properly, and takes care of all the logistics, allowing you to focus entirely on reaching the summit and enjoying the climb.
We live in the village of Verbier, Switzerland, and travel to Chamonix only for the Mont Blanc ascent. In our opinion, Verbier is a better base, as it sits at an altitude of about 1,600 meters, which naturally aids in acclimatization to thinner air. Chamonix, in comparison, is at around 1,000 meters, and studies show that acclimatization starts at approximately 1,000 meters.
Additionally, staying in Verbier during the summer is more affordable than in Chamonix, which can be unbearably crowded during the high season of July and August.
Airport transfers from Geneva to Verbier and back to the airport are provided comfortably and quickly by car or minibus.
Transfers by car from Verbier to Gressoney and back (for acclimatization ascent), as well as between Verbier and Chamonix for the Mont Blanc ascent.
A visa is not required for Finnish citizens to enter Swizerland, Italy or France. Check your country's visa requirements.
