Kazakhstan
Kazakhstan as a Ski Destination
Kazakhstan is a vast country in Central Asia, bordered by Russia, China, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan. The landscape is incredibly diverse, with many mountainous regions. In the south, near the Kyrgyzstan border, are the country's highest mountains and its largest city, Almaty.
In addition to these high mountains, an interesting area is the Altai Mountains in the east, near the Russian border. The Altai is known for its excellent forest skiing, cold climate, and very long ski season. Snowfall is abundant starting from late October.
As a ski destination, Kazakhstan offers a new and truly different experience for freeriders who have seen it all!
Lumiversumi / Powder Universe in Kazakhstan
In Kazakhstan, Lumiversum’s trips focus on cat skiing and ski touring. This means that the area available for freeriding is larger than when skiing from lifts. In cat skiing, you cover more vertical meters daily compared to skinning, but a ski touring week takes you into untouched nature where you can enjoy peace, quiet, and stunning landscapes.
