North Macedonia has two major ski resorts: Popova Šapka in the Šar Mountains in the northwest and Mavrovo in western Macedonia within Mavrovo National Park.

North Macedonia is an inexpensive ski destination compared to many other European countries. The infrastructure may not be as developed as in the Alps, but this also makes it an appealing option for those seeking a quieter and more authentic skiing experience.
