Georgia as a Ski Destination

Georgia has quickly risen as a popular winter sports destination, especially among fans of skiing and freeriding. This country, located in the Caucasus region, offers stunning mountain landscapes, excellent skiing opportunities, and authentic culture, making it an attractive alternative to more traditional ski destinations.

Georgia's rich culture, delicious food and wine, and hospitable people make for a unique travel experience. Georgia is an excellent choice for adventurous skiers and those who want to combine skiing with culture, history, and local experiences.

The snow in our selected areas is generally excellent. The region of Western Georgia, near the Black Sea, is highly snow-reliable, and the ski season lasts from November to March or April. The average snowfall is comparable to the best spots in Japan. The reason for this is the same weather phenomenon as in Japan; the ski area is only about 50-60 km from the Black Sea coast, and in winter, cold air masses from the north pick up moisture as they move over the Black Sea, which then falls as snow on Georgia's mountains.

Lumiversumi / Powder Universe in Georgia

There are several ski resorts in Georgia, but Lumiversum’s trips focus on cat skiing and the opportunities it offers. This means that the area available for freeriding is larger than when skiing from lifts, and the daily vertical drop is greater than when skinning.
