Greece as a Ski Destination
Greece might not be the first place that comes to mind when thinking of ski destinations, but the country offers surprisingly good opportunities for winter sports. Greece has several ski resorts that offer diverse slopes and stunning scenery, usually without large tourist crowds.
Although Greece typically has mild winters, the mountainous regions receive enough snow for skiing, especially from December to March.
Greece provides interesting and unique options for skiers looking to experience something different from the traditional ski resorts in the Alps or the Nordic countries.
Lumiversumi / Powder Universe in Greece
Lumiversum’s trip to Greece is a road trip. For a week, the group will travel with guides in minibuses through the Greek mountains, heading to wherever the snow is and where more is expected. Hotels and flights are booked at the last minute, 3-4 weeks before the trip, to ensure that the snow base in the resorts is sufficient.
The trip will use ski lifts as much as possible, but there may be days when you’ll ski in the backcountry using skins or snowshoes. So, this trip isn’t for you if you prefer to rely solely on lifts!
