Baqueira-Beret skiing holiday

The best ski resort in Spain!

Baqueira, Spain

In the winter of 2025, during week 8, Lumiversumi will organize a trip to the best ski resort in Spain and the Pyrenees. Located in the Pyrenees near the French border, this resort is one of the largest ski areas in Spain. It is a very versatile center, offering plenty of well-maintained slopes for intermediate skiers and beginners. Additionally, the terrain is diverse, with slopes facing all directions, making it easy to follow either the sun or the shade and snow throughout the day, depending on what you're looking for.

What sets Baqueira-Beret apart from almost all other resorts on the Iberian Peninsula is its offerings for more experienced skiers. The steeper slopes, along with its abundant and varied off-piste options and excellent backcountry terrain, are the main reasons for Baqueira-Beret's popularity.

On weekends, eager freeriders from Madrid and Barcelona, as well as many other skiers from all over Spain, including royalty, head to Baqueira-Beret’s mountains. During these times, the resort and the nearby villages are packed with skiers, and the atmosphere resembles that of Chamonix or St. Anton, often leading to crowded slopes and popular off-piste areas in good weather. However, the difference between weekends and weekdays is significant. During the week, the resort is much quieter, and there's far less competition for powder compared to the weekends (or the Alpine resorts).

Baqueira-Beret is well-known and popular within Spain, but outside the country (for example, in the Nordic countries or the Alps), most people have never heard of it. This is a positive thing, as it means that during the week, the resort is not as crowded as it would be if it were famous beyond Spain's borders.
