Sailing to great skiing areas!
Norway, and especially the Lyngen Alps, have been extremely popular ski touring areas among Finns for years. Skiers from many other countries, such as Central Europe, also flock to the area—and for good reason. The scenery is breathtaking, and there’s great skiing available almost everywhere.
The challenge nowadays is that Northern Norway has become so popular that there are often crowds at the most well-known spots. However, most groups travel by car, and for those moving by boat, many excellent skiing areas become accessible, places that are very difficult to reach without one.
The group, with a maximum of 7 clients, will have two experienced guides. Lumiversum’s own Pette Halme and another guide who has skied extensively in Northern Norway, either Finnish, German, or Norwegian. We will announce the name of the second guide later in the fall.

Participants will arrive at the Tromsø harbor on Saturday, April 26th. In the afternoon/evening, we will set sail, heading north from Tromsø, and anchor for the night. From Sunday to Friday, we will primarily ski in the areas surrounding the islands located northeast of Tromsø (such as Arnøya and Kågen). On Thursday and Friday, we will gradually make our way back toward Tromsø, stopping at suitable spots for skiing. On Friday evening or night, we will arrive back at Tromsø harbor, and on Saturday morning, we will return the boat and head home.
During the day, we typically climb and descend 2-3 times, covering a total elevation gain of around 1000-1500 meters per day. Of course, the weather in Norway, like anywhere else in the world, significantly affects the daily and weekly plans. The skipper and guides will make decisions regarding ports, anchor points, and the skiing program for each day based on the latest weather forecasts and snow conditions.
Intermediate level. There are no major technical difficulties in the descents, but participants must be able to ski in varying snow conditions. Good physical fitness is required, as there are no lifts and all climbs must be done using your own strength.
